“While I dance I can not judge, I can not hate,
I can not separate myself from life.
I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance.”
– Hans Bos
The aforesaid quotation found its true implementation where dance and its forms really reside. When I say ‘resides’, it means that, the thing called ‘dance’ traces it home to stay where it is worshiped by the dancers and after the dancers meet with prominently called dance, there happens a show. Same thing happened few days back. A workshop on dance organised by one of our affiliates Star Dance Academy.
Star dance academy(SDA) had their best workshop this year. The workshop was held at Sonari in the district of Sivasagar, Assam. This workshop was organized by three expert choreographers of the zone. They were Master Peter, Master Bishwa and Master Tutu. The entire team tried their best to organise the worshop in a beneficial way. This wonderful event started on 12th of July, 2012. The inauguration function was succeeded by paying homage to respected and beloved Bhupen Hazarika, Mamoni Roisom Goswami & everyone’s favourite poet Hiru da. They were the few jewels of Assam who left us behind making the far more resourceful and rich in culture and heritage. The inauguration function included thought-provoking speeches by the Chief Guests and most important worship event to The lord of Dance-Nataraj.
Beginning the workshop, Master Peter taught the students the contemporary dance form for 3 days. The moments during the event was welcomed by some enthusiastic students who joined the workshop. They seemed to enjoy the classes rather than learning. And we know, when some-thing is enjoyed, it enhances the productivity of the event other than the formal learning process. The first three days went-off with all haste with everyone enjoying the workshop and workshop members arranging the entire big event.
On the on set of 4th day, Master Tutu’s students duly learnt semi classical dance. All the students followed what has been taught and presented By him. That thing reciprocated in a well manner when all the students showed their best involvement with full energy and practice. As gradually the event headed to 5th and 6th day, Master Biahwa taught hip-hop to his students. The students enjoyed all these days and so the guardians. There were all total 57 students who learnt all these forms of dance. Guardian, students and master counts to 150 in number making the event a huge thing to be focused on digital media of the zone.
The workshop was a grand success over all.
On 20th July, 2012, this workshop organized by SDA came to an end. The director of Chariedeo Husari Dol, Mr. Feroj Konwar was the chief guest. Prominent writer, director, & natyakar Mr. Dimbeshwar Konwar also presided over the function. Both the guests gave an inspirational speech encouraging children to develop themselves in every possible field and also thanked SDA for conducting such a resourceful and genial workshop. The chief guest gave away the participants their certificates and wished good luck for their future. Vote of thanks was delivered by the members of SDA. The students were really happy with the efforts the masters gave in. They took snaps of the masters as they gonna preserve it. Prominent media channels of the state covered this event with the students putting back their feedback and experiences to their log books.
Note: Thousand Miles feels very grateful and thankful as the Academy has chosen us their Online Media Partner. We also put forward our hearty thanks to the organisation for highlighting us during the event. Atlast, but not the least, we wish them grand success in near future.
