Tarun is a tabla artist from Nagpur was born in the orange city of India on 27 th July, 1993 and got into professional training under Shri Sandeep Chauhan when he was just 3.

His journey started when his mother thought of giving him a gift on Children’s day. He demanded tabla as gift to which his mother didn’t refuse. That was the moment when his inseparable bond developed for Tabla. He gave his first stage performance at the age of 6. He became to a child artist at All India Radio at the age of 7.

He started his professional training under Shri Sandeep Chauhanji and then continued with Shri Suresh khadanvisji. During this period of time he travelled for performance to Mumbai, Hydrabad, Nanded, Khairagah. He met Shri Prafulla Athayle, senior deciple of great tabla guru Late Ustad Allahrakhaji. He was really impressed with Tarun’s talent and advised his parents to take him to Great tabla Guru Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkarji who was really impressed by the kid’s ability.

Tarun juggled education with his training by travelling up and down to his Guru in Mumbai, thrice a month for 11 years until he finished his graduation and now hasfinally shifted to Mumbai.

He has won the prestigious Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Yuva Sangeet Award in the year 2015. Along with this, he has many achievements to his account. He is a Grade B artist at All India Radio. He has also received 1 st prize at Dadar Matunga Tabla Compition, 2016.

Tarun gives credit to his parents Shri Roshan Lalaji and Smt. Poonam Lalaji. His

elder brother and his role model Rohan Lala. His guide Shri Prafulla Athayle and

last but not the least his Guru and his Inspiration Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkarji for all

his achievements.
