We have put together a little timeline that shows our journey, but this is only part of the story. We want to hear from you too! Scroll down to the bottom to add your chapter 🙂

The name of your magazine reminds me of my favourite poem by Robert Frost: “The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep…” Let’s hope that your magazine and I have both taken the proverbial first step in the journey of a Thousand Miles.

Promoting roots

Assam and North East

With its headquarter situated in the historic town of Sivasagar, in the Indian state of Assam (formerly it was also the capital of the Ahom Kingdom in the Medieval times), we, at Thousand Miles have always made a conscious effort to promote the state and its indigenous culture through our articles and images. For decades, the people of Assam & NE at large have been fighting an identity crisis, conveniently ignored by the mainstream media, and a political system biased towards larger states who have majority in the Parliament. Thousand Miles, in its little way, tries to give voice to the muffled cries of this unheard and ignored community.
