To start with the article, I need you to know the definition of democracy in a simple language. According to me, the country which is comprised of its citizens along with various elements of the society and the collective and official mandate of its citizens leading to the formation of a progressive-thinking and honest government to run the same in an effective way so that there is no corruption, no hunger, no injustice, no crime and development of everything that are needed for the betterment of the people of the same that includes better communal harmony, better public health, better education facilities, strong infrastructure, pollution-free environment, unbreachable border security, superb privacy protection, high employment rate, less inflation, and high happiness index . This is my definition of Democracy. This is something I believe and you may also agree to what I have defined.
Now the question arises, does this definition matches even with 10% of the definition I have given? We have high unemployment in the recent 2-3 years. We are among the world’s worst happiness indexed countries. The ten cities of India including our national capital Delhi comes in the top ten most polluted cities in the world. The country is experiencing the worst brotherhood when it comes to religion. The high rate of lynchings in recent years along with severe crime rates including the high rate of rapes all over India as per NCRB 2017 makes us one of the worst countries of the world to live in.
Whenever someone like me analyzes these facts and tells the truth to the public, I am tagged as Anti-national, Libtard and what not! The ‘Freedom of Expression’ in this country has vanished into thin air because whoever criticizes the current government becomes an enemy to the country. The so-called Media is almost sold out in the hands of the current Government. They never criticize anything that is hurting the country where the current government is responsible. It is high time to raise your voice otherwise, Democracy as per Lincoln saying, “for the people, of the people and by the people’ will be in grave danger.
We are listed in the top three surveillance countries where there is hardly any privacy of data. Recently, Whatapp Group announced a piece of shocking news saying WhatsApp accounts of 14 Indian people had been compromised by Israeli software named ‘Pegasus’ which comprised of advocates, media persons, activists. I still could not figure the reason for hacking those people’s accounts. Maybe they are protesting against the Government or working for the helpless people of the country. The reason I am saying is that ‘Pegasus’ software could be bought only by the government of a country, not any other single individual for snooping.
I still love my country being an Indian. I will still shoutout loudly with all my heart and love ‘Vande Mataram, Jai Hind’ where and whenever needed. But deep down inside, I want my country to be a corruption-free and high happiness indexed country in the world. That’s what I always hope for.
