Ginger garlic paste:2tbsp

Onion-3 medium sized

Green chilli-2

Pepper powder-1tsp

Lemon juice-3tbsp

Cashew-melon seeds paste-2tbsp

Bay leaf-2

4 Cardamom,6 cloves and half inch cinnamon

Kasuri methi-1 tbsp

Salt to taste


Oil for frying


  • First marinate the chicken for half an hour with ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, curd, pepper powder, and salt.
  • Make a paste of onions and green chilies in a blender.
  • In a pan, heat oil and add bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom, onion- chilli Fry for 2minutes or till the paste turns golden brown.
  • Then add the chicken pieces and fry for 20min. If it gets too dry, add slight water.
  • Add sugar and fry for 5 min.
  • Add the cashew-melon seeds paste( kaju- magaz seeds).
  • Add pepper powder if needed and add 1tsp butter.
  • Cook for another 10min and lastly add 1 tbsp kasurimethi. Serve hot with rice or roti.
