The Beggar’s Tale
Sunrays streaming through the skies,
Sunrays setting the trees alive,
A new day smiles upon the world,
A new day for me to survive.
A day of joy for many,
A day of sorrow for some,
But for me, its a mirror depicting..
The struggles that are to come.
I rummage the bins for food,
To find my strength for the day.
The people around me are not too kind..
They would rather shoo me away.
Little children playing in the park,
So oblivious to life’s trials..
Even the pretty girl at the bus stop..
Stabs my heart with hers smiles.
I too yearn to be free like them
To fly in the sky like a bird..
But sadly, i can’t do so..for,
With the chains of fate i am fettered.
